K-5 Grade Music Joke about POP Music Lesson by Mrs. Carol Louise Moore

TIME FOR ANOTHER...
C Moore Kid Songs Joke Day
To help chase the "BLUES" away.
Now, when we talk about
chasing the BLUES away
It is saying we feel a little sad,
when we are feeling BLUE.
Another definition for the BLUES
is a type of music style

Okay, Get ready to laugh,
or at least you better laugh.
Just kidding.

Get it? LOL
This joke is implying that
the word POP is like in
to POP a balloon.
However, the music joke part is saying
That the POP is for POP music.

Today I will be talking about the different types of
POP music we have in our world, and
how it changes through TIME

Could the word POP be shortened for the
word POPular?

What do you think the definition of
POP music is?
According to the online Macmillan Dictionary
POP music is
"...a type of music, usually played on electronic instruments, that is POPular with many people because it consists of short songs with a strong beat and simple tunes that are easy to remember.
POP music is often simply called POP."

A POPular song with the Trolls is "Can't Stop the Feeling".
Let's see if you can have fun singing along to this POPular song.

Do you know who is singing this song in real life?
Justin Timberlake

Here is Justin Timberlake being interviewed for the song
"Can't Stop The Feeling" in Trolls.

Now here is Justin Timberlake performing the song

Sometime during the school year
I like to treat the 2nd graders to
watching the movie called "SING".

The kids really enjoy this POPular song,
"I'm Still Standing"
Let's see if you can have fun singing along
to this POPular song.

Another POPular song from the movie "Sing"

that the kids really enjoy is...
"Set It All Free"
Let's see if you can have fun singing along
to this POPular song.

What is your favorite kid friendly

POP for POPular song?

Meanwhile...
Stay tuned for MOORE fun videos by me
to have MOORE fun singing along too.

Sincerely,
 Mrs. Carol Louise Moore

2nd Grade "Star Spangled Banner" Music Lesson by Mrs. Carol Louise Moore

We will first start off our program by singing
our national anthem
"The Star Spangled Banner"

I created this handout to try to help the kids
read and learn the song.
You can also practice singing along to
"The Star Spangled Banner" here.
IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND
THE IMPORTANCE OF SINGING THIS SONG
WE ARE GOING TO WATCH A VIDEO
ON THE HISTORY OF OUR
NATIONAL ANTHEM OF....
THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER

The sign language for "FREE" is
crossing the wrists out in front of you,
like someone tied your wrists together with rope
in front of you and is holding you captive;

then you break the ropes by breaking FREE and
now you are brave by
holding bent arms out to side like in the picture.

This is like how we are learning
"FREE" and "BRAVE" with the
"YOU'RE A GRAND OLD FLAG" song.

I would like to do a sign language video of
"You're a Grand Ole Flag" and post on YouTube
for the kids to practice at home.
The new song for our program this year is
"YANKEE DOODLE".

I will talk MOORE about this song on my next post.
Meanwhile, stay tuned for MOORE kidsongs.

Sincerely,
 Mrs. Carol Louise Moore
